Composition Competition Southeast Asia
Ensemble Mosaik & Ensemble Kyai Fatahillah
In early October 2011, The Goethe Institute Jakarta will organize a composition competition für Southeast Asian composers (continuation of the successful project in Kuala Lumpur in 2009). The basic idea is the combination of Western and Sundanese instruments. The Berlin-based "Ensemble Mosaik", together with the Bandung-based Ensemble "Kyai Fatahillah" by Iwan Gunawan (UPI Bandung) will practice the selected works in a one-week-workshop at UPI Bandung. Performances are planned at Taman Budaya /Bandung, Yogyakarta and Jakarta. Detailed information will be published around end of October on the website of Goethe Institute Jakarta and at all Southeast Asian art institutions (music departments).
